While much of the hype around the 2023 Polaris lineup has focused on the Ride Command+ and the super-sporty RZR Turbo R, it would be important to notice the changes that have come to the 2023 Polaris General lineup. The most notable news regarding the 2023 Polaris General drop is the release of the 2023 Polaris General XP 1000 Sport. But that’s just the surface, so keep reading to learn everything you need about the 2023 Polaris General lineup!
In addition to the Sport model, the 2023 Polaris General lineup includes the 2023 XP 1000 Ultimate and 2023 XP 1000 Premium versions. As expected, these cars have the same wishbones, Walker Evans shocks, and 30×10-15 tires/wheels as the other XP versions. But what separates the Ultimate and Premium versions of the 2023 Polaris General from the XP Sport version are all the included factory accessories.
For example, the 2023 Polaris General XP 1000 Ultimate comes with a Rockford Fosgate Stage 3 audio system, while the 2023 Polaris General XP 1000 Premium includes a Rockford Fosgate Stage 1 audio package. In addition, the Ultimate version also includes a 7-inch touchscreen display and digital instruments for GPS mapping, communication, and smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth and USB. Moreover, the Ultimate also features front and rear cameras to give users an unparalleled view of their surroundings! While these factory accessories are certainly cool, only some riders need them. And when you compare the extra cost of the car to the cost of adding similar aftermarket accessories, you’ll get a better idea of whether or not the higher-end General editions are worth it!

The 2023 Polaris General XP 1000 and XP 4 1000 come with Walker Evans Velocity Series shocks, while the non-XP General Sport comes with ZF Sachs Twin Tube shocks. Additionally, XP trims include 30-inch tires and 15-inch aluminum wheels, while the base model comes from the factory with 12-inch wheels and 27-inch tires. And finally, you also get winch and accent lighting with the 2023 Polaris General Sport XP versions.
Equipped with 15-inch aluminum racing wheels and 30-inch 8-ply off-road tires, they give you sure-footed traction and confidence in the power to tackle the roughest terrain. Climbing rocky paths and driving on rutted paths can be a comfortable blast. But hitting rock bottom can end a good time in a hurry. It has 13.5 inches of ground clearance, so you can clear obstacles that would stop others in your path.

Starting with the engines, the 2023 General 1000 Sport, General XP 1000 Sport, and General XP 4 1000 Sport all use a 4-stroke DOHC Prostar 1000 twin-cylinder engine capable of generating 100 hp with a working volume of 999 cubic meters. Unlike the engines, the suspension systems of the 2023 Polaris General Sport and the Polaris General XP Sport are not identical.
The non-XP version of the 2023 Polaris General Sport features double wishbones with anti-roll bars that give the machine 12.25 inches of travel, 12 inches of ground clearance, and 60-inch track width (62.5 inches overall width). On the other hand, the 2023 Polaris General XP 1000 Sport and XP 4 1000 Sport feature long-travel shocks and high-clearance A-arms that give the vehicles 14 inches of travel, 13.5 inches of ground clearance, and 64 inches of track width.
